ITINERARY - 11 DAYS

Day 1

Arrive at Cairo International Airport and transfer to Cairo hotel. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 2

After breakfast, in the steps of the Holy Family, drive to Rafah, an important city in the Northern Sinai on the Mediterranean coast where the Holy Family began their Holy Journey to Egypt from Bethlehem. Continue our journey to El Zaranik to visit the ruins of the Flossiat church.

Overnight at hotel.

Day 3

After breakfast, continue our journey to Farama (situated between El Arish & Port Said), for a visit to the Roman Coptic ruins and ancient monuments. Proceed to Tel Basta (the Main Town in Sharkia Governorate), for a visit to the ruins of the Paranoiac monuments and the perfectly formed Jesus Well, amongst a sea of fallen idols. Proceed to Mostorod to visit the Virgin Mary's Church and the Holy Family's Spring.

Overnight at hotel.

Day 4

After breakfast, drive to Belbeis, for a visit to the Virgin Mary's Church and the Tree, where the Holy Family rested in the shade, passing by Meniet Samanoud city. Continue our journey with a visit to the (Martyr) Abanoub Church, Virgin Mary's trough, where the infant child Jesus was bathed and Jesus Christ's water wheel, then return to Cairo.

Day 5

After breakfast, drive to Sakha (in the district of Burullus Lake, in the present day Kafr El Sheikh Governorate, located in the centre of the Nile Delta), for a visit to the Virgin Mary's Church. Continuing across the Rosetta Nile branch  towards the  Western Delta, heading south into Wadi El Natroun (the valley of salt), for a visit to the Monasteries of Chapel, Anba Beshnoy, El Soryan, Abu Makar and Al Baramous to learn more about the Coptic faith. Return to Cairo .

Day 6

After breakfast, drive to Ein Shams, which was home to a large Jewish community, for a visit to the ruins of the ancient monuments. Proceed to Mataryia, where we will visit Saint Mary's Tree, here the Virgin Mary rested and the Christ's Spring where the infant Jesus made water flow and from which the Holy Family drank.

Proceed to El Zeitoun, for a visit to the Virgin Mary's Church. Continue to central Cairo, for a visit to the Church of St. Mark in Abassia.

Day 7

After breakfast, our journey continues to Old Cairo Fostat, for visits to all the churches of interest including Abu Sifen, Al Moalaka, Abu Serga-built on the site where the Holy Family, according to tradition, rested at the end of their journey to Egypt-St. Barbara and St. George. Proceed to Maadi, which was once part of ancient Memphis, the capital of Egypt in early Paranoiac times, for a visit to Virgin Mary's Church.

Day 8

After breakfast, cross the Nile towards southern Egypt to Al Bahnasa (close to Maghagha City) for a visit to Al Garnos Monastery and the Holy Family's Well. Passing Abia Issous (east of Bahnasa city) and Samalout city, we cross the Nile to the eastern bank to Gabal El Tair or Gabal El Kaf, east of Samalout and south of Meadyat Beni Khaled, for a visit to the Virgin Mary's Monastery.

Day 9

After breakfast, drive south to Nazlet Ebeid, for a visit to the Abed Tree (the Worshipper's Tree, a unique tree which is said to have bowed as the infant Jesus passed by). Proceed to Al Barsha for a visit to the Al Barsha Monastery. After crossing the Nile to Ashmonien (known in the Greek period as Hermopolis Magna), we visit the Greco Roman ruins.

Day 10

After breakfast, drive to Dairout, for a visit to Mary's Monastery and Mary's Tree, passing by Qussquam (Qossia) and Meira. Continue to Mount Qussquam for a visit to the Ancient Fort and Virgin Mary's Church in Al Moharraq Monastery, then proceed further South to Gabal Dronka visiting the Virgin Mary's Monastery.

Overnight at hotel in Assuit.

Day 11

After breakfast transfer by train to Cairo. On arrival in Cairo transfer to Cairo International Airport for the final flight departure.
