All the pick ups and transfers to and from the airports were impeccable, we had no hassle or stress and the transfers guys were helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them.
Luxor/Aswan
ITINERARY - 8 DAYS
Day 1
Meet & assist at Luxor airport and transfer to 5* Dahabiya and check-in.
Lunch on board. After lunch, visit the East Bank of Luxor, starting with the temple of Karnak which many consider to be the largest temple complex ever built by man. This great complex is dedicated to the main god of the ancient Egyptians Amun-Re.
Visit Luxor Temple, the southernmost of the monuments of the Theban East Bank, located in the heart of ancient Thebes and, like Karnak, was dedicated to Amun-Re.
Overnight in Luxor.
Day 2
Breakfast on board. Visit the West Bank of Luxor starting with the Valley of the Kings, which contains 62 tombs to date. In 1922 Howard Carter found the last and the most famous of these tombs, the tomb belonging to the young pharaoh Tutankhamun. Visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Deir el-Bahri) which is designed in multiple levels, the temple itself consisted of three broad courts separated by colonnades, linked by ascending ramps and bounded by dressed limestone walls. Before leaving the West Bank visit the Colossi of Memnon, two gigantic sitting statues representing Amenopis III facing the Nile. Return to the cruiser.
Lunch on board with an afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Luxor.
Day 3
After breakfast sail to Esna. Overnight in Esna.
Day 4
After breakfast sail to Edfu to visit the Temple of Edfu, dedicated to God Horus (falcon headed God), considered to be the most complete and best preserved of all the temples in Egypt.
Overnight in Edfu.
Day 5
After breakfast set sail to Kom Ombo to visit the Temple of Kom Ombo dedicated equally to the god Sobek (crocodile headed God) and the god Haroeris (falcon headed God). This temple is unique in its location as it stands on a plateau dissected by two long dry streams which isolate the site and provides the most spectacular setting of any of Egypt’s river temples.
Overnight in Kom Ombo.
Day 6
After breakfast sail to Aswan and overnight at Aswan.
Day 7
After breakfast visit Aswan starting with Philae Temple, dedicated to the Goddess Isis. The island of Philae now lies submerged beneath the waters of Lake Nasser to the south of Aswan. When the Aswan High Dam was built in the 1960s the island’s temples were dismantled and reconstructed on a higher island which now resembles the original Philae. Next a visit to the High Dam which is located near Aswan.
Overnight at Aswan.
Day 8
After breakfast, check-out and transfer to Aswan airport.
