Aswan/Abu Simbel
ITINERARY - 4 DAYS
Day 1
Arrival in Aswan to board the boat, lunch on board. Visit to Kalabsha temple with its Pharaonic aspect, remodelled into the Greco-Roman style and dedicated to the God Mandoulis. Visit the hemi-Speos of Beit El Wali, erected by Ramses II in the beginning of his reign. Visit the Kiosk of Kertassi, built to honour the Goddess Isis.
Sail to Wadi El Seboua and overnight on the way at the Tropic of Cancer.
Day 2
Continue sailing to Wadi El Seboua. Morning visit to Wadi El Seboua Temple, dedicated by Ramses II to the two Gods Amon Ra and Ra Harmakis, the temple of Dakka, dedicated to the God Thot of divine Wisdom. Visit the Greco-Roman temple of Maharakka.
Sail to Amada, visit the temple of Amada from the XVIIIth dynasty, built during the reign of Thohotmosis III, Amenophis III and Thohotmosis IV. Visit the hemi-spocs of Derr, dedicated by Ramses II to the rising sun, finally the tomb of Penout, viceroy of Nubia.
Sail to Kasr Ibrim. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 3
Morning visit to the Citadel of Kasr Ibrim, sole vestige of the distant past of Nubia in its original location. Sail to Abu Simbel and after lunch visit the temples including the temple of Ramses II and his beloved wife Nefertari.
Sound & Light Show at Abu Simbel temple followed by a candlelit dinner on board and overnight.
Day 4
Possibility for a second visit to the temples to watch the spectacular sunrise at Abu Simbel. Breakfast and disembarkation.
